SS501 LEADER'S CLOTHES CAUGHT FIRE!

My Daily
ShenYuePop + Quainte501 + bestiz + xiaping @doubles201

Kim Hyun Joong
of group, SS501, after injuring his leg, suffered a shock when fire sparks got onto his clothes.

During the pre-recording of ‘DejaVu’ at SBS Inkigayo on the 13th, fire sparks used for visual effects got onto the clothing of Kim Hyun Joong, and gave a shock to the fans. This day, to emcee the show with Song Ji Hyo and Park Jung Min, Kim Hyun Joong had to pre-record ‘DejaVu’ instead of live broadcasting.

Even though not all of the audience has admitted at that time, fans of SS501 were already seated around the stage to watch the performance. Kim Hyun Joong got a shock by the fire sparks that got onto his clothes during the recording, and hence have to do the recording all over again. Due to previous leg injury, with this fire sparks incident adding on, many fans are more worried now.

The fans felt that the problem lies with the stage setting, and demanded an open apology from the organiser. However, SS501’s company DSP explained that Kim Hyun Joong only suffered a mild shock, and did not have any injuries. His leg injury happened during previous recording, and has nothing with this incident.

Hmm, now who is to blame? Obviously there must be something wrong with those fireworks or visual effects, or whatever you call them. Or maybe Kim Hyun Joong was standing on the wrong place. Both could have brought about this incident.

Poor guy, he’s been having injuries for the past weeks or so. Rumor has it that he also injured his hand. Maybe its all this bad omen brought about by the “Beatdown TVXQ” incident. Did “some” crazy Cassiopeia fans put a spell on these guys (SS501) that they’ve been getting so much bad luck these days?

SS501 PROMISES TO GIVE TVXQ / DBSK A BEATDOWN

ALLKPOP
By: johnnydorama

SS501 who has recently returned to the K-Pop scene has been creating quite a movement. These metro-sexuals have returned with upgraded feminine aesthetics and are now well-equipped to fight head-on with big sisters TVXQ.

SS501 who had a very successful run in Japan, still trailed behind TVXQ's massive popularity. Their excuse was that TVXQ had debuted 2 years earlier than them in Japan, however SS501 has promised to give TVXQ a beating within the next 2 years.

Lot's of cat-fights and rivalries going on lately, as covered already by Popseoul, there is the Super Junior vs. A'st1 bitch fight, and now SS501 vs. TVXQ. I'm actually glad to see these rivalries starting up as the industry was becoming a bit boring, besides, it's always fun to see a bunch of females clawing at each other.

With that said, Super Junior still has no chance in a fight, they may over-shadow everyone in sheer numbers, but they also have double the amount of gayness - well they aren't at the bottom though, I'm sure they'd still give Big Bang a good spanking.

Wow~ these articles are selling like pancakes! Earlier as said on the article above, Popseoul released a story about Ast’1 giving Super Junior a challenge they could not take lightly. And that is, for Super Junior to prove that they are better than the new comers (Ast’1) and for the new comers to overthrow them (SUJU) from their current status on Kpop industry, and show the fans what they can do.

But with this new gossip released by ALLKPOP, you can’t take it seriously just yet. Since there are no quotes, photos, or videos to backup the story. And we all know how ALLKPOP does their stories, which by the way is highly entertaining. So all you TVXQ fangirls can just calm down. No need to join the bad mouthing and silly fights. You can also read the past story "SS501 Beats Tohoshinki?" also from ALLKPOP --click here.

Apparently there is an article in Korean from Newsen, where ALLKPOP probably got the news. And TVXQ is mentioned in the article. Since I don't read Korean, I can't translate it for you. But okayjohnny at AF mentioned that as quoted from the said article, SS501 did mention that they will top TVXQ in Japan in 2 years. If you could read the article, here it is. --click here.

I don’t really listen to SS501, nor have I watched all their releases, but they are quite good. It’s safe to say that they can rival TVXQ, but I don’t think they can do better just yet. There’s more room for growth for both groups. So we’ll never know if TVXQ will do even better in the future, or SS501 will surpass them and be more successful in the next 2 years (money-wise maybe). But I guess only time can tell. I can’t say that SS501 can’t ever be like TVXQ because I don’t live in the future.

I just know that I love TVXQ, and it ends there.

SS501 BEATS TOHOSHINKI?
ALLKPOP
By: sLaVe

Korean boy bands Tohoshinki (a.k.a. DBSK / TVXQ) and SS501 both debuted in Japan with the hopes of sparking their careers. Both have succeeded in making it into Japan’s Oricon Charts with credible ranking.

Though SM Entertainment’s DBSK has been working in Japan since 2006, they were outdone by late comers, SS501.

DSP Entertainment’s SS501 had made a name for themselves in Japan after their first single made it to the top 10. On the other hand, it took DBSK eight tries to make it to the top 10 and continually stay there. It was even more shocking when SS501’s second single made it to the top ten again!

SS501’s success was gladly appreciated as they knew debuting in a new country, especially one as hard as Japan, would be a tough ordeal. But once again, they won the battle against DBSK by winning The Best 10 New Artist of 2008 Award at the Japan Golden Disk Award (an award that shouldn’t be overlooked). Even their first album (ranking #20) outranked DBSK’s first Japanese album (ranking #22). The new artist awards are given to ten artists who debuted in the previous year and ranked top ten in the album sales and revenue category.

DBSK may be outselling SS501 in both Japan and China, but looks like that didn’t help them win an award that night. Due to the many rumors of SM Entertainment always rigging award ceremonies and album/single sales, SS501’s award can
be seen as truly genuine.

Other Korean artists who were honored with a Golden Disk Award were BoA, Ryu Shi Won, and Shinhwa.

This news seem real funny, especially to everyone who's been following Tohoshinki's success for the past years. I really haven't listened to SS501 prior to this article. The first time I saw them was on a some magazine scans, and I thought "Wow they look so gay!" and I couldn't stand their appearance, especially their fixed noses. But we all know that looks can be deceiving, but many really get that first impression of them. To me they kinda look lanky and girly, compared to other Korean groups (boy bands).

So yeah, I just listed to SS501's Japanese songs, and I have come to the conclusion that SS501's style  fits the Jpop category. Their songs seem the usual Jpop songs you'd hear especially from boy bands like ARASHI. And we all know how ARASHI is very popular in Japan, that people there regard them as "more successful" and "better" than Tohoshinki (of course it sounds silly). Can't blame the Japanese cos they love their own. And on SS501's case, their style is fit for the Japanese music market, no wonder they're doing well.
